My hardest Hard Mode experience was trying to find a PUG who was capable of getting through Domain of Secrets in Hard Mode. Most of them get wiped shortly before or shortly after the first boss, and die constantly on the way to that point.

The hardest, hard mode experience... ever possible.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10146204
(Actually, it wasn't that hard compared to normal DoA, just took an hour longer then normal, i.e. refer to comments in linked thread).

cheers!

Getting owned from fast recharge healing hands, while Dunkoro and company got pummeled to the ground.

Getting bloodspiked by a trio of ravenous mandragors. 450 armor-ignoring damage with 1/4 second casting time (115 + 35 each.) Ouch.

Bohdabi the Destructive was pretty nasty too. He's fast-casting the animate spells while his acolytes rez the dead. Not fun until I managed to draw his group into my waiting Wurm squad.

I haven't had too much experience with Hard Mode yet. I've done all the missions in Ascalon so far as well as Chahbek Village and Tihark Orchard. Nolani was definitely the worst so far. I got in PuG after PuG today and we just never made it. Finally I got in a group with a monk, an SS necro, and a warrior (I'm a Mesmer). We cleared it all easy up to the point where Rurik uses Stormcaller (which is the point I had been at about 10 different times that day). This is where Rurik goes on a rampage. We had all failed numerous times though and we were ready. After the cutscene, before Rurik charged, we managed to pull and kill a group of stalkers, which probably saved us big time in a minute. We were getting ready to try and pull another group, but then Rurik was down amongst them. We began fighting and three of us ended up dead. I don't remember who was still alive (I died casting Ineptitude on a Charr and he hit me and died) but they were alive with Rurik distracting the Charr. We all managed to get back up on our feet and I barely had any energy before we had to rush off and save Rurik again as he continued charging. After that initial battle, it is surprisingly simple as there are only small groups of 2 charr and then an Elementalist boss. Finally finished that and went on to hero/hench Borlis Pass

For me Hardmode is nice, only the enemy's bonus is flawd, they are strong enough as it is and now they beat down my 4 man party like we are a pile of dust.

Ascalon in hard mode is fun, atleast the idea is but 2 groups of grawl quickly make you rethink and retreat. Remove the darn bonus, 4 man party size is nuts.

(Btw i know it's all about tactics and good spells, but still it's a pain doing it, i honestly thought the charr and all in ascalon would be lvl 20 instead of 6 and have some different skills and certainly no bonus )

Gates of Kryta...Got right to the end with heros and henchies, thinking that it was going well, met up with justicar hablion(i think he's lvl18) and got told to clear the area of mosters.
After the cutscene i get a bad case of lag, and can only watch in horror as Hablion charges alone, into a group of lvl22-24 undead of all kinds and grasping ghouls. Two seconds later he totally PWNED and the message 'Your party was defeated' flashes up on the screen...
Damn sucidal NPCs!!!!

Dreadnought's Drift...

Need i say more? Our party got wiped TWICE by the same mob of Blessed Griffons. The Balth Aura + Symbol of Wrath spam vs balled up morons (hench) flattens them so fast...

Then once we reached the first Stone Summit mob... well, 12 of them? Need to say i just gave up.

Wow, that is annoying. I'll have to keep that in mind when I clear the area.

I think what's the most important is planning!! thinking ahead of time what you might run into, and ways to counter it.

We just did DoA, quad run (all 4 quests) on Hard Mode. It was long, took about 9 hrs, but I'm sure it can be done faster. Some of the party members were very experienced there, some were less, like me.

Planning ahead, being on the same page, sticking to a strategy has its rewards. If this can be done, I think mostly anything can:

The hardest part for me is getting my ranger in a group. Easy enough for my necro and monks, but the ranger gets no love.

Bringing 4 people in a 8 person zone. It was big mistake since I didn't see the 4/8 thing on the party window.

Worst part is, I figured this out when I cleared half the map.
